How it all started
-
Beginning at a very young age I have been developing a passion for the outside world and its beauty. From barreling down the bunny hill on tiny skis to jumping my bike over garbage cans in my back alley, playing in the outdoors has become a part of me; a place that I have and always will love to be.
My love of photography began some years ago when I was experimenting with new ways to explore the outdoors. I dusted off my Dads old 35mm camera and quickly to learn the basics of exposure, focus, and composition. One roll of film, a trip to Whistler BC, and only eight exposures later I was awarded honorable mention in a local photography competition.
Needless to say, I was hooked!

Where I studied
-
To help me perfect my art, I studied at the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria BC. City life on the island didn't exactly provide me with a wide range of sports to shoot, instead it opened up new doors in photography that I had rarely knocked on before and has encouraged me to learn new techniques and styles.
My love for the outdoors and photography is continuing to evolve with every new project that I take on. Through my studies at Western, I have explored and been taught so many new and different genres of photography; architecture, sports, fashion, weddings, portraiture, and everything else in between.

Where I am
I am now based in Calgary Alberta where I am shooting whenever and wherever I can. I am trying to push and develop my photography every time I touch my camera, setting new goals and trying new things. I love to shoot the pictures that haven't been taken, people say are past the limits of what can be done, a perspective that hasn't been seen or anything downright mind-boggling to take while simply beautiful after.

Where I am going
My love for photography is, and will always be open to any genre. Be it sports, landscape, portraiture, fashion, still life, architecture, or advertising - I love all of it and hope to continue shooting a wide variety of subjects. Wherever my eyes and my camera take me I want to develop, grow and innovate as an artist.
